Happy Mother`s Day, Ladies!

“…If men and women were surer of their God- there would be more genuine manliness, womanliness, and godliness in the world, and a whole lot less fear of each other.”

E. Elliott

I saw this quote the other day, and just wanted to SOAK it up and meditate on it for a few days.

It keeps speaking to me.

Today, on Mother`s Day, I realized that somehow, from some influence somewhere– I was/am PROUD to be a woman. I have never wavered in my love for the female role I was created in.

Why was this?

…then thinking on this, I realized, it was because of my mom. She loved her female role too, and she lived out of that. She embraced the gifts God had given her, gifts that only a woman could bring the world. It wasn`t better than the gifts God gave man.

Strength, honor, wisdom.

It enhanced them.

My mother in law is the same way.

In fact- if there was a common thread between these two women in my life- and all other women (younger or older than me) that I admire most- it`s this.

They loved to be Godly women. They embraced it wholeheartedly and lived and loved out of it.

Some things I think of when I think of my mom, mother in law, and also other Godly women I see and notice:

They make their men feel more manly.

They bring healing with their softness.

They minister with their hands and open hearts.

They bring joy to a day with their singing.

They show you the world through reading and being more aware.

They smell soft like flowers.

They bring cool freshness to the sick.

They give a voice to the forgotten.

They give an ear to the broken-hearted.

They bring beauty to any situation- just by being there.

They bring food and comfort to the hungry.

Happy Mother`s Day to my sweet mom!

And to all the women who bring so much beauty to my world.

I admire you and want to be more like you!
